Manchester Carers Centre

To mark #CarersRightsDay2023 Manchester City council have re-affirmed their commitment to better support unpaid carers with the following announcement.

From April next year (2024) Manchester carers will be invited to apply for a Carers Manchester Identity Card to enable prompt recognition across a range of services and access to appropriate support, particularly during an emergency. The pandemic caused several challenging circumstances for carers including isolation, and this new card will provide a more durable form of identification unlocking access to services quickly.

Manchester Carers Centre welcome this development and hope it allows more unpaid carers in Manchester to access the support and recognition that they rightly deserve.
