We understand it is very hard for young people to juggle caring responsibilities at a crucial time in their young lives where they are developing their skills, experience and aspirations for the future, so we operate a specialist service for Young Adult Carers (aged 16-25) who live or care for someone living within Manchester City Council.
- We have provided essential support to Young Adult Carers who are experiencing difficulties with their mental health and have promoted positive health and wellbeing for all Young Adult Carers that we work with.
- We have provided group activities for respite and to connect Young Adult Carers together.
- We produce regular e-bulletins and opportunities to develop skills, support to build aspirations for Carers’ futures and to help Carers cope with their unique caring responsibilities.
- We work with our network partners the Carers Trust and Manchester City Council to ensure the needs of Young Adult Carers can be met.
We help connect individual Young Adult Carers in need with the appropriate services and support for them. The support we have offered to young adult carers has helped improve their confidence and communication skills and better connected them with other Young Adult Carers in Manchester. We help Young Adult Carers have a voice and profile.
